The Role of the Midwife
Midwives play a crucial role in antenatal education and support during labour. They will happily help you to give birth if everything is going well. If there are complications, or you need an assisted delivery or a caesarean section then it is reassuring and comforting to have a specialist who is known to you to help with your care.
The services provided by Obstetrician Dr Rahul Sen include access to experienced midwives who will ensure that you have the support you require for the critical periods of your pregnancy.

This is a special but also very vulnerable time in your life – so it’s only natural that you will have a lot of questions and need extra specialist support during your pregnancy. That’s why I’m delighted to have a skilled midwife, Michele Simpson on my team.
Michele and I have worked together for many years at the Royal Hospital for Women. She is a highly experienced and caring midwife who will see you for a long consultation (1-hour) at around 24 weeks, and then for a shorter consultation (30 minutes) at around 37 weeks, if needed. More…
